I learned that there are many types of groups and levels of students that a teacher may face in a teaching situation. You teach a very young beginner much different that a middle school level learner. It is important to take a needs analysis for a client to be sure you provide the critical learning required for that client and meet their expectations. It is important to do a mid-class analysis to see if you are meeting those needs so that you can adjust your lesson plans if needed. Teaching a business english class does not require a thorough knowledge of their business, although that can be helpful. When teaching individual students you can focus on the students specific interests and experience.
