This introduction to classroom management covered several tenets of organizing an orderly class, such as seating arrangements, grouping, writing on the board, giving instructions, and maintaining discipline. Some of the advice given in the unit seems obvious but can undoubtedly be difficult to do in practice, like learning the students' names. Other ideas are more ethereal but not less important - such as \"establishing rapport.\" The concrete suggestions given in order to achieve this goal, such as being aware of students' rapport with one another and not allowing any one student to dominate, were helpful in creating an idea of how to form this very basic part of the framework of classroom management.
