In this unit on materials, I learned about \"authentic\" and \"non-authentic\" teaching materials and why using authentic materials is more advantageous. I also was made aware that I could actually design my own \"authentic\" materials when teaching business english. In doing so, I am able to cater to my specific group of students in regards to the particular business environment in which they work in. Within this unit, I also learned a little more about the importance of making lesson plans, but also being aware that it is in fact...JUST a plan. The lesson plan should only be used as a point of reference, therefor student understanding determines what happens in the course of the lesson, not the lesson plan itself.
