This unit was about managing a class. I have taught sixth grade social studies in the United States for the last thirteen years and I feel like I am strong in this area. I learned a lot from this unit especially about working with adults and about working with people who don't understand English. I will need to inspire confidence in the students and be flexible to a changing role based on the activity or situation. Eye contact, gestures and the teacher's classroom voice are also important tools to aid in the classroom. The best advice given was establish a rapport with the students and ask your colleagues for help with problem behavior because their experience and knowledge can be a big help to a novice TEFL teacher.
