Part of of the difficulty in teaching a new language is being able to differentiate grammar and function from lexis and syntax. This is made clear by introducing appropriate and suitable vocabulary in response to the student's proficiency. The teachability of grammar is of gradual progression whereas vocabulary is more in-the-open to student's awareness of certain words and phrases. Both aspects of language, i.e. vocabulary and grammar have their respective ESA methods which make the process more simple for both teacher and student. It would be unsuitable for introducing new vocab to students by issuing a class-debate. It is more necessary picture-relate words and imagery before grammatically verbalizing new vocabulary.
