Created materials are designed by the teacher to replace of supplement materials from the course book. Course books are easy to use, contain a syllabus graded to the level of the students, balance grammar, vocab, and skills, have been tried and tested, and have good ideas for new teachers. However, they are predictable, can make teachers lazy, are not geared toward any specific nationality, and dictate what should be taught. When using a course book, you can omit, replace, supplement, or adapt material.
