The two receptive skills--Listening and Reading are both very important in English learning. In my opinion,teaching reading is a bit more challenging than teaching listening.Regarding listening,we can recommend some appropriate materials for the students,no matter what age and level they are,they can do some additional practice at home,so that it helps to improve their listening ability. As for the reading teaching,it seems more complicated,especially for younger learners who haven?t got much English experience.First we have to find the right level materils for them,and we need to evaluate if the materials are proper and just good for their level while teaching.Normally I would choose those leveled readers with some CD tracks,so they can listen first and then read and understand ultimately with the teacher?s help. We help them to build their English up step by step,and we hope they not only learn these skills for a purpose,but also find much fun and entertainment in the process of learning.We hope that we can help them find a possibility of open up a whole new world.
