Overall, this unit taught me that a teacher's posture, facial expression, speaking, and general demeanor play very big part in the outcome of the lesson. It was clear that in the second video that the teacher was more inviting, smiled more and laughed and joked with the students. In direct response the lesson, student engagement, and success of the lesson was evident! How the lesson is structured was also shown and what worked better than other activities in the first video. I learned that there are key moments when a teacher should follow a correct structure in order to maximize effectiveness and give the best chance of the students understanding the point or learning objective. In my opinion, the first video showed a concept that was put in difficult terms and the students seemed confused and bored. This showed by their lack of engagement/participation and overall mood and willingness to involve themselves in the discussion or activity. It was also pretty obvious that they did not understand what the teaching was discussing or what he expected of them in regard to answering his questions.
