Writing and composing in written form to my mind is one of the mandatory parts of the language learning. Unfortunately, nowadays the number of schools that prefer reading and writing activities in learning rather than completing the worksheets decreases with the every new school opened. That is how it works in Turkey, where I live. I found this unit very helpful with the writing teaching techniques provided. As it was mentioned in the unit, writing activities do really take plenty of time from the 40 minutes lesson, but I try to give my students writing tasks for their homework. The game part was also interesting to study, though in Turkey older students barely like playing games, they consider them the loss of time. But I still try to provide the class with some games once in a while. I still try to find those magic words to explain the students with iPhones and IPads that writing is still important, but most of the kids these days barely write in their native language. But, fortunately, there still are plenty of students who value the possibility of learning the 'classical' English language.
