In this unit I learned different tools that can help student improve their productive speaking and writing skills. I also learn the difference between accuracy and fluency. Accuracy concentrates on producing the correct language; whereas fluency concentrates on allowing students to experiment and be creative with language.I also learned some of the reasons why student can be reluctant to speak in the classroom the reason are lack of self confidence, peer intimidation, cultural reasons as well as the fear of making mistakes. My job as the teacher in order to help the students overcome these hurdles is to encourage student interactions; by creating a comfortable atmosphere where students are not afraid to speak and make mistakes.
