In this unit, we learned all about modal auxiliary verbs such as; can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, have to, have got to, need to, needn't and ought to. These are used before the verb to add meaning to the main verb. They can also be used to express different ideas, such as, advice, permission, possibility, obligation, and more. Modal auxiliary verbs can also be used to express different levels of formality such as \"can vs. may I.\" For example, \"May I use your car?\" is more formal then, \"Can I use your car?\" Modal auxiliary verbs can also be used to do other things such as show a degree of certainty. For example, \"You must go to the hospital\" is more certain then, \"You should go to the hospital.\
