The unit provided a concise overview of both the teacher and learner characteristics as well as the needed and desired attributes for a successful teaching / learning process. I found interesting (as I never really thought about it this way) the distinction between a teacher's personality attributes and the teacher / student relationship attributes. I also found helpful the definitions of the various teacher roles and the importance of knowing when to switch between them for the most effective teaching result. The student motivation overview was helpful too. Another interesting fact was the reminder of how customs change with countries and what may be culturally appropriate in one may seem offensive in the next. very good point.
