The basic qualities of a good teacher are things that can be learned, such as how to motivate students and maintain a lively and entertaining classroom, but they also must be maintained and understood in cultural and age-appropriate contexts. Being able to participate in lessons and correct students when necessary is as important as it is to create rapport and comfortability, as well as structural organization in the classroom. Different age groups must be approached with different teaching techniques, but the best qualities a student of any age can have are willingness to learn and listen to the langauge, willingness to ask questions, the desire to learn, and the ability to think about their own learning processes and methods.
