Testing and evaluation is yet another component of TEFL that I apply differently between classroom and private practice. The language center where I currently work has been using placement tests as a means of determining students? language levels and guiding their development for quite some time now, and recently methods of evaluating progress have also been successfully implemented. I have personally contributed to the formulation of these evaluative methods as well as formulated some of my own which I have used with my private students; namely diagnostic and progress exams. The details that this unit has gone into to explain the aspects and features of each evaluative test have certainly added to my expertise in this area.
