This unit briefly covered problems and solutions with teaching English. I found the advice about dealing with reluctant students to be the most useful. I have several classes that will simply stare if I ask them a question. I'd like to try putting them in pairs and groups more for classwork to help them be more comfortable participating. I also like the idea of using English all the time, but for many of my students it's almost impossible because their skills are low but they are expected to learn advanced English grammar that requires a lot of explanation. My school has a low academic level and I'm often told that my seniors are still struggling with junior high school English, so it's a struggle for me to use English all the time.
