In this unit I learnt about equipment and teaching aids for a successful classroom. These include boards, interactive white boards, over head projectors, visual aids, work sheets/cards, cassette recorder CD player, video and DVDs, video camera, dictionary, resource books, photocopiers and computers. All classrooms should have a board of some sort for planning and organizing lessons. Over head projectors are great because they minimize the time the teacher spends with their back facing the classroom however the set up can be complicated. Visual aids help illustrate meaning quickly, retains interest and stimulate discussion. Finally with the use of modern day technology, the use of computers, recorders and videos have become more popular.
