This unit breaks down the aspects of a good teacher and learner. A good teacher must take on a variety of roles such as a prompter, assessor or model to name a few, and know which times are appropriate to take on a certain role. A good learner is one who has a willingness to learn, experiment and ask questions. Being a good learner does not mean you have to have a more advanced knowledge of English than others. Being a good learner means you are able to apply these traits of openness to whichever level you fall under whether it is Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. I learned that it is important to maintain a balance of all roles as a teacher and to understand the individual needs of a student, based on their different backgrounds.
