I felt like a student in each lesson. In the first lesson I wanted to leave the classroom and I felt sorry for the students, because they clearly did not have a clue what to do and they looked like they were intimidated by the teacher. The second lesson was so much more engaging. I felt like I wanted to participate. The first and most important lesson was the teacher smiling. Being respectful and always praising answers that were correct and correcting the wrong answers with a smile. The flow from each phase was effortless. Encourage student participation by not keeping your back turned to students. Pointing to students and remembering names makes them feel like a teacher cares and encourages them to participate and want to learn.
