Unit 9 discusses the benefits of lesson planning. Lesson planning should be a map to help a teacher understand the direction of each class but should not be rigid. Just as in life there are many ways to get to a destination the teacher can chart a course but be ready to read the classroom and adjust to accommodate the classrooms needs. Lesson planning is a great record of events for the teacher who makes the plan and for anyone stepping in to cover as well.
