This unit is about troubleshooting. Troubles abound in many teaching situations, many of them not under the control of the teacher (e.g. size of the class, skill level of the students), and this unit shows that these problems are not insurmountable. There are descriptions on what to do for: classes wherein the students know each other, and classes where they don't; establishing rapport with the students; making certain that the weaker students are not left behind and the advanced students are not bored; and dealing with large and multi-level classes. As with some other chapters, most of these skills are taught in teaching colleges, but the unit provides a timely reminder that many problems in teaching English are just opportunities in disguise.
