The unit basically focused on teaching the new language. It covered ground on mainly three aspects which are vocabulary, grammar and functions. It made reference to the fact that grammar is purported to be the tree trunk and branch /branches of a language while on the other hand the vocabulary and functions are the leaves. Therefore l learnt that there is need to balance since one cannot work without the other or in isolation, hence there is need to merge all three. Personally l learnt that when teaching there is no straight gun approach in using the teaching ESA methods. I learnt that one may use the straight arrow approach or patchwork approach depending on the language that the teacher needs to introduce to the students at that particular moment.
