Throughout section 15, several methods of evaluation were explained. While a test may simply seem to be a test, most tests that a student will take will likely serve a fairly specific purpose. The forms of evaluation range from a simple progress test, which is meant to see how a student is doing currently in a class, to the something a bit more complex like a diagnostic test or a placement test, which are meant to measure the level of competence a student has before a course begins. However, those two tests also have other purposes. A placement test would show the proper level of class that a student should be placed in whereas a diagnostic test would allow a teacher to figure out what a student would need to work on within their level of competency.
