In the final unit we took a look at potential struggles and challenges in the classroom and how to handle it. The first thing you face on your first day in a new class is with a new group, you and all the students may be new or you may be entering into a class or group where the students already know each other. One of the most important things to do is to get to know each individual student. Get to know their interests, motivators, strengths and weaknesses but make it fun. Some fun survey activities or questionnaires are a great idea which get get the students and teacher involved. Building rapport and connecting with the students will help both you teach and the students learn as you help build their confidence and know where their learning gaps are.
