After reading the content of Unit 8 on Future Tenses, I feel I now have a clearer picture of the different future tenses in the English language and when and how to use them, differentiate them and how to place them in a sentence or when expressing yourself in the future. I also feel that the example of teaching ideas provided are very helpful, as it is not always easy to engage students into using future tenses in their conversations and speaking in a fun and creative manner. Examples such as ?Predicting future changes in the X years using various topics? ? to engage students to use the future simple tense or even the idea of ?filling in future diaries and eliciting questions in the future perfect? to get students to express themselves in the future perfect tense. Furthermore, I also found very helpful in Unit 8 ? the distinction made between each future tenses functions to avoid confusion between these tenses and make typical errors such as for example between the future perfect and future perfect continuous: As quoted from Unit 8 : ?The future perfect can often be confused with the future perfect continuous ? the distinction between completion of action and by a certain time in the future and how long something will have continued for a certain time (future perfect continuous) needs to be made?.
