In this unit I have well learned on the parts of speech in English. I started learning about nouns and all the different forms, like, common noun, proper noun, compound, abstract and collective. I have also learned the difference between countable and uncountable nouns. Next in the unit was the explanation of adjectives, which in their turn describes the nouns. There was the explanation of articles. Which are the indefinite a or an and the definitive article, the. The next section was about the verbs. The action or stare verbs that usually go with a subject. The three main types of verbs are called: transitive verbs (followed directly by an object), intransitive verbs (not followed directly by an object), infinitives (base of the verbs) and then the auxiliary verbs like, do, have and be. I have also learnt about adverbs. Who in their turn add meaning to the action. There are 5 main types of adverbs: manner (well, hard), place (here, there), time (now), degree (very, much) and frequency (always). Adverbs are usually formed by adding -ly to the adjective. Last but not least I have learned about gerunds (the -ing form of a verb used as a noun), pronouns (words that are used in the place of nouns), prepositions (shows the relationship between a noun or pronoun and some other word in a sentence) and the conjunctions (joins words of the class or clauses of sentences).
