This unit focuses specifically on receptive skills in language? reading and listening. These skills involve understanding material in another language that is presented to the speaker. It explains the different contexts where students may encounter this material, highlights the different skills necessary to listen and read properly, and outlines skills that teachers can employ to improve their students abilities in these areas and increase their confidence. Many of these skills and tasks resonated with my own experiences as a student learning other languages, and I feel more aware of the thought process of my teachers.
