Without a teacher's background I found the first part useful, and it categorised it nicely for me. I see the value in many of the old methods, must most important for me are Presentation, Practice and Production, Communicative Language Teaching, The Lexical Approach and Audio Lingualism. I guess as an online teacher I make use of realia, pictures, role plays, pronunciation drills and situational depictions which are used a lot by these methods. The Engage Study and Activate method makes a lot of sense and also can help to make a lesson more interesting. Good to learn about when to correct and when not to, within these stages.
