A tefl course would place me further on my path to becoming a professional language educator. I believe it would serve as an excellent stepping stone in gaining valuable knowledge on the method behind English teaching, as well as its practice of a second language. Since entering middle school eleven years ago, I have dreamed of pursuing a career educating others and sharing the knowledge I have cultivated. Although I do not have formal education in the methodology of language teaching yet, I am a native English speaker, and have been immersed in spanish Language and Literature studies for the past nine years. Using the resources attained from this course, partnered with my vast knowledge of the Spanish language and other pertinent skills, I want to develop my career as a bilingual teacher. Ideally, after completion, I would like to take residence in a Spanish speaking country, and find a TEFL job educating young adults abroad for one to two years. Beyond that, my plan would be to return to the United states, and continue my career as a bilingual educator in the American schooling system.
