In teaching modal verbs, a teacher must be able to explain clearly to the students the usage of each and the different ideas the modal verbs can express. These ideas include obligation, possibility/probability, permission/prohibition, ability and advice. Learning the passive voice is also quite useful when it is not known, or it is not important, or we don't want to say who the performs the action. A teacher should demonstrate to students the structure and usage of the passive voice.Lastly, relative clauses and phrasal verbs should be taught to students as they greatly help in improving fluency.
