In this unit the receptive skills of reading and listening were introduced. Both are equally important to develop language skills and should be used together for greater effectiveness. Reading can take many forms, depending on what you want to achieve e.g. skimming, prediction, detailed. So can listening. However in language training special texts and audio are developed specifically for learning and so we do not need to rely on natural text/audio.
