This unit provided a useful introduction to the structure of English grammar (parts of speech) and how sentences are constructed. This is especially challenging for non-native speakers of English because, while general rules can be understood and applied, often there are exceptions which seem to make little sense. The learner must abandon the application of simple logic and memorise these exceptions.
