I definitely disagree with the literature that says a grammar exercise is not a good warm up for class. I have been using proofreading exercises at the beginning of the lesson for years and the children love it. I also introduce material we will be coving for the day or review from past lessons. It gets their brains in \"English mode\" as I like to call it and it challenges them to find and correct mistakes.
