Unit 1 describes the qualities, roles and responsibilities of both teachers and students in the classroom. It gives examples concerning a teacher?s personality and casts light on the relationship between the teacher and the students. The unit spotlights the roles of the teacher, how they depend on the Type of activity and what we wish the students to achieve. Another vital issue included in the topic is what we perceive to be a good learner and how different factors can influence our approach to new learning experience and methods. We can also get to know distinctions between six different levels of ability in the English language. The last essential topic is motivation, in other words all the reasons why students may have decided to attend English class. I have learned a lot about the qualities, roles and responsibilities of a good teacher which will surely be useful and helpful regarding my current teaching job.", During this unit I have learned what makes a good teacher and how to maintain those qualities. The roles a teacher should have and that they are used at different times and parts of the lessons. What makes a good learner and that with those qualities a student is more likely to succeed in learning the language. That there are several differences between young and adult learners and that a teacher needs to understand these so that the lessons and the students can maximize their learning. I learned what the different stages of mastering the language are and how I as the teacher can work with students on each level and what reasons they might have for wanting to learn English., This unit taught me about the different roles that teachers and learners had.
