The disadvantages are: does not always fit the needs of all the class members This unit is about course material. It looks at the benefits and disadvantages of authentic and created materials as well as course books. I can appreciate the difference between authentic and created material and although authentic would probably be easier as it is less preparation time, it would not always be the most appropriate for the lesson. While a course book is very helpful, I think that it is more efficient and interesting for the students to use materials catered to them specifically. This unit had a lot of helpful ideas for supplemental supplies to use for the students and also some great tips on how to effectively use different coursebooks.
