Keeping tools for learning are helpful. Using Overhead Projectors can be useful in the way that the teachers back is not facing the students similar to writing on a typical whiteboard. Also, the teacher can use transparencies prior to the lesson, and have all of the work on the transparency that he/she would normally write on the board and simply place it over the OHP. Similarly, a computer can be helpful by allowing them to search words on already downloaded dictionaries and other helpful resources.This unit covered teaching special groups. I appreciated that the unit went more in-depth into the needs and common issues a teacher might encounter with young learners, the various types of beginners, and learners with specific needs for business. One thing that was especially useful was the section that covered mixed learners versus learners who all speak the same L1 language. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, and knowing how to use either situation to one's advantage will prove useful.
