The content in this unit was helpful in understanding two things: the types of examination relevant to ESL, and the testing that students who wish to pursue careers using english are required to take. The official proficiency examinations were good to learn about, mainly because as an English teacher, some of the students will be interested in these examinations. The types of testing for ESL were helpful to learn about because it explained how examinations can be used to check the progress of students and tailor future lessons to their needs.
