The purpose of the practice test is to allow students to see where they should improve Before the actual test comes along. A practice test may be used for an internal or external exam. Finally, an external proficiency test is one that colleges and businesses use to assess students and employees. A certain score is required for admission or employment. Teachers should be aware of any external examinations students are preparing for. The TOEFL is the Test of english as a Foreign Language, and it is used by US universities for the admission of non-native English speakers. The IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, and this score is recognized by universities, employers, immigration authorities, and professional groups. The TOEIC is the Test of English for International Communication and is one of the most widely accepted test of work-place English knowledge. The Cambridge assessment is extremely popular and students take one of 5 leveled exams to test proficiency.
