It provides thinking behind and approach in the choice and use of course books and other materials (two groups being authentic and created). I am thinking once again the topic of the unit is very useful to me at this time. This is because I am am working on different projects which are have different requirements. For example one project requires that I support the participants to be successful in their TOEFL iBT examinations. Another in their accuracy and fluency at a C1 level in their career. I've found the unit gives me a good Guide for how to go about choosing what course book would be idea as well as authenic and created materials. In particular it is going to support me presenting a proposal to the company that I currently work with that hasn't been overly forthcoming in this respect.
