This unit focuses on the different types of evaluations and tests used in tefl courses. I had not known there were so many different types of external tests. The Cambridge exams, in particular, were unknown to me prior to this unit. I find it interesting that Europe has many different types of exams for very specific purposes. General course tests used for evaluation mentioned in this unit include placement, diagnostic, progress, and practice tests. As a student, I have had to complete each of these tests at some point or another. It is interesting to view diagnostic and placement tests from the teaching perspective.
