As someone interested in teaching business English, this unit was particularly helpful. I appreciated the insight it gives into the reasons why some people may be taking the class. Before reading this lesson, I had not considered the possibility that an entire office could be taking my class, with the secretary and boss in the same learning area. With children, it was important to note that their native language should not be used to make them comfortable, since they could learn to rely on that and make them complacent. This was very helpful.Unit 19 ?Teaching special groups? concerns peculiarities of teaching beginners (absolute or false, adult or young), individual students, children and special features of teaching Business English (or English for Specific Purposes, ESP). We have a clear algorithm of how to teach special groups, do?s and don?ts, appropriate tasks and suggestions to content and teaching program. The most useful for me in this unit was the sample needs analysis form. The form is well-structures and covers all essential factors I need to know about my student.
