Because my degrees are in this topic I would say the best thing I gained from this was a nice review. Because I while teaching you don't use a lot of the technical linguistic terms you start to lose them and this course gave me a very welcome refresher. The various “What would you do?” questions also really got me thinking about my teaching and how I run my classes, so it was also a really nice self-review. There are a few activities that I thought about during this class that I have never done before and definitely plan on trying in the future. The grammar review was MUCH NEEDED. Because I was an Applied Linguistics major specializing in teach english as a foreign language and not an outright english major these kind of nitpicky grammar questions were severally lacking and this course really gave me a chance to review and learn some new ones.
