In this unit I learned about the receptive skills of reading and listening and how to structure an ESA teaching session that benefits the students. Some examples of that would be using level appropriate vocabulary and sentence length, incorporating everyones interesting, and pre-teaching more difficult vocabulary during the engage phase to better benefit the student. I also learned Tic-Tac-Toe and Jeopardy are great ways to incorporate games into the classroom.Unit 6 is another brain teaser unit. The rules are that Past Simple has ago in it, Past Continuous has was or were with a verb plus ing, Past Perfect
has had plus a past participle and Past Perfect Continuous has had been with a verb plus ing. These rules seem simple however when applying them to the worksheet and quiz there seems to be very subtle differences in tense at times. The analytical understanding of grammar is different from its practical application.
