In this unit I was reminded of the parts of speech. Even though it was a long lesson I enjoyed being reminded of the rules to using certain parts of speech. There are 5 Types of nouns: common, proper, compound, abstract, and collective. The unit also discussed how to make nouns plural and what type of ending they are changed to. Within these five types of nouns there are two types on nouns: countable and uncountable. The unit also discussed adjectives. There are two kinds: comparative and superlative. Next the lesson discussed articles. A and AN are considered indefinite articles while THE is considered a definite article. Verbs were discussed next. Transitive verbs are followed by an object while intransitive verbs CANNOT be followed directly by an object. There are 4 types of verb forms: base, past simply, past participle and present participle. Adverbs were discussed next. Adverbs add meaning to the verb. Pronouns were next. There are four kinds: personal, possessive, reflexive, and relative. Lastly, prepositions and conjunctions were discussed.
