Unit one on teachers and learners really opened my eyes to the role of a teacher and how important it is in every country especially on influencing the leaders of the future. Being a journalist, the role of a teacher is very similar in terms of influencing and educating the audience, being patient and kind to your interviewee and having a genuine passion for the work. Having being a student from primary school right through to university, I was able to reflect back on my experiences in the classroom to the points and factors mentioned in this unit, which helped my understanding on all definitions.
