As with the previous unit on textbooks, I found this book to be a bit of a letdown, as I was hoping for more detailed information on how to design tests or at least how to evaluate predesigned tests for their appropriateness for various goals. In the classes I currently teach, I almost never use multiple choice as a testing format. I am sensing that it is a reasonable format for ESL teaching, especially since the answer options provided are likely to address common mistakes if designed well. I would have liked to see some more examples of this, though.
