The content of this unit presented the four tenses of the past time period: past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. I learned that the structures of the past and present tenses are very similar. I also learned that the past perfect continuous is not a widely used or taught part of speech. This surprised me, though as a native speaker, I can understand why it would be confusing - to remember to add \"had\" + \"been\" + \"verb+ing\" is a lot of grammar to remember, not to mention that you have to remember that you are talking about something that was taking place up to (and possibly beyond) the moment of the speaking/writing.
