This was a challenging lesson! I have never studied the phonetic alphabet Before, so familiarizing myself with the different symbols was interesting. While reading the chapter I was brainstorming ways to teach pronunciation to young learners. I think for younger children, as the lesson suggested, using a diagram of the mouth and throat would be helpful to have kids visualize where the sound should be coming from. I also think that now being conscious of the origins of each sound, I will be more successful in my own foreign language learning.
