Do not use definite article THE Before names of countries, cities, streets, states, lakes. Do use THE before names of rivers, oceans, deserts, forests, gulfs. Students should memorize past participle of irregular verbs. When identifying each part of speech in the sentence, be aware of how that word is used in the specific sentence as many words can be used in different part of speech.
