Countable noun- pen, cat, box, plate, suitcase Uncountable noun- music, love, luggage, water, power Adjective- delicious, sweet, funny, mean, big Adverb- gently, carefully, truthfully, naturally, correctly Preposition- since, about, to, through, near Verb- drop, obey, hug, pass, gather Pronoun- I, you, he, she, it Infinitive- to learn, to grab, to create, to love, to fall Gerund- breathing, helping, learning, swimming, talking Comparative adjective- brighter, cooler, braver, happier, smarter Superlative adjective- coldest, richest, longest, most famous, shortest Article (3 only)- the, a, an Conjunction- and, but, or, yet, for a) Adjectives and adverbs- An adjective describes a noun. ex: The big ball. An adverb is a word that changes another adverb, verb, or noun. It tells you about time, manner, place, degree, cause. ex: Last night he was snoring loudly. b) Nouns and pronouns- A noun is a person, place, or thing. ex: The teacher was friendly. A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun or another pronoun in a sentence or phrase. ex: Jack loves football. He plays everyday. a) Conjunctions ? A conjunction is a word that combines two groups of sentences. For example, John likes school and he like sports. The word 'and' combines these two things that John likes to do. He likes school AND he likes sports. b) Gerunds ? A gerund is very easy to understand. All you need to do is add 'ing' to end of verb. Here is is an example, 'I am teaching the class today'. The word 'teaching' is the gerund. So the verb would be 'teach', then you add the 'ing' to the end of this word. c) Verbs ? A verb is one of the most important part of the sentence. It describes the action, it is something that you do. An example of a verb in a sentence is, 'I turned a page of the book'. 'Turned' is the what I did. It is the action I made with the page of the book. d) Comparative adjectives ? When we use adjectives, we can compare them. That is a comparative adjective. An example of a comparative adjective is, 'Julie is shorter than Tom'. See, I am comparing Julie's height to Toms height. This can be done by simply adding 'er' to a word, like taller, shorter, smaller, bigger. e) Prepositions - When using a preposition all you are doing is linking a noun, pronoun, or a phrase to another part of a sentence. So the preposition is a link in the sentence. A good example of a preposition in a sentence is, 'The bird soared above the trees'. As you can see the word 'above' is linking what the bird did in relation to the trees. So the bird is soaring 'above' the trees. You can also say 'The cat is under the house'. 'under' would be the preposition because it is telling you where the cat is in relation to the house. f) Superlative adjectives ? A superlative adjective is almost like a comparative adjective. A superlative adjective compares three or more objects, or people, or places. A good example of a superlative adjective would be, 'That elephant is the tallest of the group'. See, you are not saying, 'The black elephant is taller than the brown elephant', you are comparing this elephant to a group or three or more. An easy way to learn a superlative adjective is to add 'est' to the end of the word. Another example is 'Ronald was the earliest student to class'. That is a bit different from 'Ronald was earlier than John today'. That would be a comparison between two students, rather than the class as a whole. Well there are two types of articles, definite (the) and indefinite (a, an). An article is a determiner that identifies a noun. In the sentence below, the noun is the tree. ex: That is a tree. The tree is tall. Well this is all what i learn from the unit. How to teach the grammar for learner. ", Here
