Present tenses, although initially complicated and difficult to learn, can easily be learned with memorizing and verbal practice. The videotape was an excellent support to the written material in this lesson. After viewing the videotape and re-reading the written information, it was an enjoyable unit. As a teacher, the grammar for students is an important aspect. This unit discusses explanations and rules for the usages of present simple and complex present verbs. I think that the explanations given here give students the resources they need to really understand and later utilize the verbs that are being discussed. This was indeed not easy. I use the different present tenses 'automatically' without much thought: bringing thought into it complicates the matter. I try to find similarities with other languages that also use different present tense forms, such as the Russian language.
